Redefining food processing: BAADER’s innovative solutions for a sustainable future
With generations of experience, BAADER designs solutions offering sustainable value, creating products that benefit people today, tomorrow and beyond. Their deep-rooted commitment to innovation ensures that they continue to evolve, meeting the needs of an ever-changing world.
While BAADER typically operates within the poultry and fish industries, they also offer solutions to fit other food industries. For example, BAADER Refiners combine product recovery, resource conservation and packaging recycling with profitability. BAADERING – a synonym for gentle product refinement with maximum resource appreciation and value creation – offers higher food quality, value creation and process reliability.
BAADERING is an internationally recognized process for separating soft and solid components through a unique method involving a squeezing belt and a perforated drum. This gentle handling ensures minimal stress on the material, preserving the highest quality in the final product. The BAADERING process is versatile, effectively processing a wide range of fresh raw materials, including fruits and vegetables
Stephen Willoughby, General Food Manager at BAADER, has worked in the industry for eight years. Willoughby has been directly involved with many different types of foods including red meat, poultry, fish, dairy, fruits and vegetables.
“The heart of our process lies in a commitment to preserving the essence of the organic material, ensuring its natural texture,” Willoughby said.
Focusing on uncovering hidden waste, their industry-leading ‘Zero Waste’ initiative introduces untapped resources into the value chain through advanced processing methods. In many stages of food production rejected packaged product is often unavoidable. With the BAADERING process, customers can de-package mislabeled or mispacked goods that would normally be discarded.
According to Willoughby, BAADER uses six different types of refiners depending on each customer’s throughput needs.
Many States are now implementing legal requirements to prevent organic material being taken to the landfills. “Using our refiners, not only are plastics recycled, but organics are removed from the landfill,” Willoughby said. “You can then use the separated material as re-work, animal feed or even biogas, depending on the application.”
The BAADERING process is not only good for the environment, but it also provides for many operational and economic benefits including increased product yield and value, improved food safety/CCP (Critical Control Points) and reduced disposal costs.
