Oklahoma-based produce distributor joins FreshEdge

Oklahoma-based produce distribution company Frontier Produce has joined FreshEdge, an Indianapolis-headquartered network of food distributors.

For three decades, Frontier Produce has provided fruits and vegetables, proteins, dairy and specialty items to foodservice establishments throughout Oklahoma and southwest Missouri including restaurants, hotels, school systems and caterers, according to a news release.

The company operates out of three Oklahoma facilities — two in Tulsa and one in Oklahoma City — with a combined 80,000-plus square feet of warehouse space.

“We are excited for this new opportunity,”  Rob DeWitt, Frontier Produce president, said in the release. “We remain committed to offering the same level of top-notch customer service and quality our customers have come to expect from Frontier Produce.”

FreshEdge now operates more than 1.3 million square feet of warehouse space across 35 facilities with a fleet of more than 1,100 trucks.

Backed by Wind Point Partners, FreshEdge was established in 2019 with the combination of Indianapolis Fruit and Piazza Produce in Indianapolis and Get Fresh Produce in Bartlett, Illinois.
