Starbucks introduces plant-based protein blended cold brew

Starbucks has now started offering plant-based protein to its cold brew coffee at stores across the country. The new beverages are offered in almond and cacao flavors and are available at participating U.S. stores and on mobile order and pay while supplies last.

The new cold brew is made with slow-steeped Starbucks Cold Brew as well as alternative milk and plant-based proteins. A Grande (16 fluid ounce) beverage is 270 calories or less and $5.95.

“This beverage is inspired by our customers’ love for Starbucks Cold Brew and a growing interest in plant-based proteins,” the company wrote in a release.

Starbucks Almond Protein Blended Cold Brew:

Starbucks baristas craft the beverage by blending Starbucks Cold Brew with almondmilk, plant-based protein, almond butter, banana date fruit blend and ice. Almond Protein Blended Cold Brew is 270 calories and has 12 grams of plant-based protein.

Starbucks Cacao Protein Blended Cold Brew:

Starbucks baristas craft the beverage by blending Starbucks Cold Brew with coconutmilk, plant-based protein, cacao powder, banana date fruit blend and ice. Cacao Protein Blended Cold Brew has 10 grams of plant-based protein.
