Southeast Produce Council honors Titan Farms director

Ross Williams, director of packing operations and food safety at Titan Farms, has received the Southeast Produce Council’s (SEPC) Next Generation award at this year’s Southern Innovations Organics and Foodservice Expo.

The Next Generation Award is given to SEPC members under 39 who have made a significant contribution to the industry through their company. Aside from his role as director of packing operations for one of the largest commercial peach and vegetable operations in the country, Williams also leads the company’s food safety and security team as well as the crisis management team.

Williams began working at Titan Farms as a receiving supervisor as a student and joined the company full time in 2014. The SEPC said he quickly rose to the role of a company director during his tenure and today works closely with senior management on short and long-term planning as well as budget development.

“Ross is responsible for keeping production running smoothly and keeping our products compliant with food safety regulations,” said Chalmers Carr, president and CEO of Titan Farms.

Ross was instrumental in a successful initiative between the South Carolina and Georgia Peach Councils, the SEPC, the USDA and the Secretary of Agriculture in Mexico to open the border of Mexico to southeastern peaches. Most recently, Williams was invited to join class 24 of the United Fresh Leadership Program.
