SmartStep system sanitizes worker footwear

Best Sanitizers announces its new HACCP SmartStep Footwear Sanitizing System.

The HACCP SmartStep adds an additional layer of pathogen protection for produce processing facilities by reducing cross-contamination from footwear before employees enter the production area or other critical control zones. This foot-operated unit uses compressed air to deliver a finely atomized mist of Alpet D2 Surface Sanitizer to the bottom of the employee's footwear. The mist provides ample coverage to footwear soles, yet uses only 0.2 ounces of chemical, which minimizes chemical waste and improves moisture control, according to Best Sanitizers.

Alpet D2 Surface Sanitizer is widely used throughout the food processing industry for sanitizing tools, hard surfaces and water sensitive equipment. It is a 58 percent isopropyl alcohol/quaternary formulation that is ready-to-use, no-rinse, and is safe for use on food contact surfaces. Alpet D2 is a proven rubber boot and glove sanitizer, NSF registered, Kosher certified, and Pareve.

HACCP SmartStep unit features a compact footprint (10 inches wide by 21.5 inches long by 17 inches high) and can go practically anywhere in a processing facility. Multiple units can be placed throughout the plant wherever pathogen reduction from footwear is needed, and with the optional handles and boot scrubber, the HACCP SmartStep System can be tailored to meet a plant’s specific needs.
