Ready Pac Foods partners with Daily Table grocery store

Ready Pac Foods, Inc., a producer of convenience fresh foods and fresh cut produce, announced its new partnership with Daily Table, a not-for-profit retail grocery store dedicated to bringing nutritious prepared meals and groceries to economically challenged communities. Starting this year Ready Pac Foods will donate a variety of products and commodity items to Daily Table’s Dorchester, Massachusetts, store twice a week, according to a news release.

“Ready Pac Foods is committed to giving people the freedom to eat healthier. A key part of the equation is ensuring people have access to fresh foods,” Tony Sarsam, CEO of Ready Pac Foods, said. “We are eager to collaborate with Daily Table to provide consumers with fresh foods that make it possible for people to make smarter food choices regardless of economics.”

Founded by the former president of Trader Joe’s Doug Rauch, Daily Table is able to offer low prices by working with a large network of growers, distributors, manufacturers, and other suppliers who donate their excess, healthy food, or provide special buying opportunities. Ready Pac’s commitment to fresh ingredients and healthy options help expand grocery and prepared meal options at Daily Table, the company said. Much of what Daily Table sells is wholesome food that would have been wasted, if not for its recovery efforts, according to the news release.

“Without partners like Ready Pac Foods, Daily Table simply would not exist,” Rauch, president and founder of Daily Table, said. “We encourage others in the industry to follow their lead and make a commitment to making healthy food accessible to all.”

In addition to Daily Table, Ready Pac Foods has worked with charities including Midnight Mission, Children Hunger Fund, Christian Food Center, Heart of Compassion and Urban Food Initiative.
