Quest launches new line of dehumidifiers at cold chain show

Quest Dehumidifiers has launched a new line of desiccant dehumidifiers. Unveiled this week at the Global Cold Chain Expo in Chicago, the Quest Trotec line of dehumidifiers is specifically designed to meet the needs of an industry that for years has struggled to find a simple, reliable solution to its humidity control problems, according to the company.

“I’ve spent 23 years helping businesses in the cold chain industry solve some of their biggest humidity and HVAC challenges, but no one has made it easy for the customer. That’s our goal – to give customers the resources and engineering support they need to beat humidity,” said Dan Dettmers, an applications engineer at Quest.

Dettmers has more than two decades working in the industry as a consultant to Fortune 500 organizations. He’s also served as an associate researcher at the Industrial Refrigeration Consortium, part of University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he’s published numerous papers on cold chain technologies.

The new line of Quest dehumidifiers for cold chain is the result of a partnership with German-based desiccant technology firm Trotec. Product specs and additional information on the Quest Trotec units are available at QuestClimate.com/products/cold-chain.

Quest said it has taken several steps in product development to ensure their dehumidifiers meet cold chain customers’ needs. They include:

  • Best-in-class components.Customers can source many Quest Trotec components from any industrial supply store. Among those components are Eaton electronics and EBM Papst impellers.
  • Flexible platform.Any customer can upgrade from a smaller unit to one with more capacity without buying a new unit. Switch out the fan and heater, update the firmware, and they’re ready to go.
  • Short lead times.Quest will stock each model, rather than build them to order. The goal is to ensure customers don’t have to wait for a product they need now.
