Inaugural Viva Fresh Expo to debut with sold-out tradeshow

The Texas International Produce Association (TIPA) announced both a sold out exhibit hall and a wide range of retail and foodservice personnel committed to attend the inaugural Viva Fresh Expo. TIPA is offering complimentary registration for retail and foodservice attendees, along with complimentary travel for buyers.

The expo will be held on March 26-28 at the Hilton Hotel in Austin, Texas. Additional retail and foodservice companies who will be attending can be found on Viva Fresh Expo’s website.

“This regional expo extends across international boundaries, connecting retailer and foodservice attendees with suppliers from Texas, the Southwest region, and Mexico in an intimate setting,” said Jimmy Bassetti, president of J&D Produce and chair of the Retailer/Foodservice Outreach Committee. “With our goal to increase the consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables, there will be a focus on health and wellness, making our Viva Fresh Expo unique, resulting in an overwhelming, positive response.”

The expo will focus on networking and education and include virtual field tours at farms and facilities in Texas, a supermarket dietician symposium and a wide range of topics focusing on issues and opportunities with trade between Mexico and the U.S. and how that impacts both growers and customers.

“The response from retail and foodservice buyers and directors has absolutely exceeded our every expectation,” said Bret Erickson, president and CEO of the Texas International Produce Association. “It’s clear that Viva Fresh is going to successfully fill a very unique niche in connecting produce buyers and sellers in what is arguably one of the hottest produce corridors in North America.”
