Fruit Logistica publishes industry outlook report

The new Fruit Logistica trend report “Fresh Produce Trade 2025” outlines perspectives for the produce industry. To prepare for the trend report, interviews were conducted with international experts across the value chain.

Relevant fields of action were defined with expert support from the Gottlieb Duttweiler Institute, a Swiss think tank. The aim is to offer the industry ideas, incentives and insights, and to initiate a dialogue on future developments in the fresh produce business, according to a Fruit Logistica press release.

Commissioned by Fruit Logistica in honor of its 25th anniversary, the trend report was presented at the “Fruitnet World of Fresh Ideas” on the day before the 2017 show opened. Part one of the report is now available online.

“This trend analysis is our way of thanking all fresh produce industry customers and partners,” said Wilfried Wollbold, Fruit Logistica global brand manager. “They have supported Fruit Logistica over the last 25 years.”

The first issue of the four-part report deals with “Key Trends and Drivers.” Parts two, three and four will follow in April, May and June 2017 with topics ranging from production to distribution and consumer behavior.
