Earthbound Farm introduces organic salad kits line

Earthbound Farm is launching a new line of organic chopped salad kits — ready-to-serve blends of organic cabbage and romaine, chopped vegetables, toppings and dressings.

“Consumers are enjoying the bold flavors and textures of chopped salads at restaurants, and they want to get that same experience at home,” said Steve Silva, vice president of marketing, Earthbound Farm. “Earthbound Farm’s Chopped Kits give consumers bold, restaurant-quality flavors and ingredients, from the organic salad company that consumers trust. Retailers will benefit from this merger of two of the packaged greens category’s strongest growth sectors: chopped kits and organic greens.”earthboundfarm_organicsaladkit

With three products in the line at launch – BBQ Ranch Kit, Asian Kit and Southwest Kit – Earthbound Farm is anchoring its offering with flavors that have proven consumer appeal, according to the company.

“We worked with our Executive Chef Sarah LaCasse and took popular salad flavor profiles and gave them each a little twist. The BBQ Ranch Kit, for example, features sweet potato crackers, while the Asian Kit has a zesty Tahini dressing,” added Silva. “We’ve had great customer feedback on the quality of the products. For consumers who want a little something different that still tastes deliciously familiar, these salads strike the perfect balance.”

  • BBQ Ranch includes: Chopped cabbage, romaine lettuce, carrots, sweet potato crackers, dried cranberries and BBQ ranch dressing.
  • Asian includes: Chopped cabbage, romaine lettuce, kale, carrots, cilantro, wonton strips, tamari sunflower seeds and tahini dressing.
  • Southwest includes: Chopped cabbage, romaine lettuce, carrots, cilantro, spicy nachito strips, sunflower seeds and tomatillo dressing.

The Chopped Kits launch is supported with point-of-sale material and an upcoming marketing campaign in Earthbound Farm’s digital/social channels. Earthbound Farm’s Organic Chopped Salad Kits (11oz bags) are available for order with a suggested retail price (SRP) of $4.99.
