Soft gripper technology improved for 3D bin picking

Soft Robotics brings new capabilities to bin picking applications by leveraging its gripping technology in combination with commercial 3D vision sensors, according to the company.

Compared to traditional bin picking technology, Soft Robotics’ grippers enable bin picking systems to address a wider array of products in random orientations, according to a company press release. The adaptability that comes with this gripper technology allows items to be picked from any angle with a high quality grasp.

At PACK EXPO, Soft Robotics will feature its adaptive gripping technology autonomously picking apples out of a bin.
