River Ranch expands recall because of possible listeria contamination in salads

River Ranch Fresh Foods of Salinas, Calif., is expanding its voluntary recall of retail and foodservice bagged salads because of potential listeria monocytogenes contamination.

Retail salad products under the recall were distributed throughout the U.S. and Canada in various sizes, under the brand names of River Ranch, Farm Stand, Hy-Vee, Shurfresh and The Farmer’s Market. They either have “best by” code dates between 12MAY2012 and 29MAY2012 or Julian dates of 118 and 125.

There have been no reported illnesses associated with the recall. Consumers who have purchased the product should not consume it and are asked to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
