Purfresh recognizes three California companies for quality

Purfresh, a leading provider of clean technologies that purify, protect and preserve the global food supply chain, announced that California-based fresh produce companies, Sun World International, Paramount Citrus Association and Sierra Kiwi, have received the “Quality by Purfresh” seal as recognition of leadership initiatives and processes implemented to optimize the freshness, quality and safety of their products while reducing the use, residue, and disposal of traditional chemicals. The seal provides a recognition platform for worldwide growers, packers and shippers who are committed to the highest standards of produce quality through enhanced pre- and postharvest practices, according to Purfresh.

“Purfresh provides an effective and reliable storage solution that enables us to deliver the best possible product to market, which is vital to our growth,” said Mark Holder, director of facilities and operations for Sun World International, LLC. “As a result of the success we’ve experienced with Purfresh, we recently added additional Purfresh Cold Storage systems to our operations. Purfresh is a true partner in helping us maintain safe and sustainable operations, and we’re honored to be recognized as a Quality by Purfresh customer.”

“The growing demand for safer and higher-quality fresh produce illustrates that consumers are concerned with human health and the environmental impact of the products consumed,” said David Cope, president and CEO of Purfresh. “The Quality by Purfresh program is designed to promote best practices in the fresh produce industry by communicating superior quality and safety standards to grocers and its customers. We are pleased to recognize these California companies as part of our Quality by Purfresh program.”

The Quality by Purfresh program is only available to Purfresh customers committed to achieving exceptional quality standards through sustainable practices.
