Mettler Toledo plans new Florida facility

The Mettler Toledo Product Inspection Division will be building a new facility to accommodate the growth of its business throughout the Americas. The new facility is expected to be completed in late 2017, and will be located 15 miles north of the division’s current site in Tampa, Florida, which houses the company’s Safeline Metal Detection and X-ray Inspection businesses. It will also become the home of the Hi-Speed Checkweighing business, which is planned to relocate from Ithaca, New York during the course of 2018.

This investment will bring together Mettler Toledo‘s Hi-Speed and Safeline businesses into a single organization at a fully-integrated and efficient facility, according to the company. The new facility will be more than twice the size of the current building.

The common customers of both businesses will see significant advantages such as more efficient coordination, engineering and installation of new projects, according to Mettler Toledo.

The co-location will also provide a convenient “one stop shop” for the training, validation and service work for the thousands of existing Mettler Toledo installations, the company stated.
