HMC Farms wins NRA recognition

California-based HMC Farms is among the National Restaurant Association's 2012 Food and Beverage Product Innovations Award recipients.

The company was recognized for its Grape Escape fresh de-stemmed grapes, washed and ready to eat. Judges said that Grape Escape meets the challenge of profitably serving healthy fresh fruit snacks year round. Packed in single-serve 2- or 3-ounce bags, the grapes are not treated with preservatives or additives and have an 18-day shelf life.

The 2012 awardees were selected by a panel of independent judges representing major commercial and non-commercial segments of the foodservice industry. Innovators will be honored during the NRA Show 2012 in Chicago, set for May 5-8.
