Duda Farm Fresh introduces red celery, new fresh-cut radishes

Duda Farm Fresh Foods announced two new innovative products for retail market on the first day of the Produce Marketing Association’s Fresh Summit. Dan Duda Jr., president of Duda Farm Fresh, and Sam Duda, vice president, unveiled the red celery and the fresh-cut radish package.

The red celery is proprietary to Duda and has been in development for 19 years and has cost millions. The product is the first in a new proprietary distinction – Celery Sensations. The development of the celery was done using natural channels, not GMOs, said Larry Pierce, the developer of the variety. The company hopes to bring attention to the celery market with the new red celery, and the product should be available nationwide by June.

Duda Farm Fresh also introduced a new fresh-cut radish product called MiniSticks.

“We hope to reintroduce people to radishes,” Sam Duda said.

The new fresh-cut item is also a chance to remind customers of the Duda Farm Fresh food safety program, which includes third party audits and an in-house food safety director.
