Dole recalls Seven Lettuces salad as precaution, according to FDA

Dole Fresh Vegetables is voluntarily recalling 756 cases of its Seven Lettuces salad due to a possible health risk from salmonella.

The bags in question were distributed in 15 states including Alabama, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia and Wisconsin. With a use-by date of April 11, 2012, the bags carry the UPC code 71430 01057 and Product Codes 0577N089112A and 0577N089112B.

No illnesses have been reported in association with the recall. According to the FDA, the precautionary recall is being issued due to an isolated instance in which a random sample test conducted by the state of New York yielded a positive result for salmonella.
