Birko achieves ISO 9001 certification

Birko announced that it has achieved ISO 9001 certification for the quality management system implemented by its manufacturing operations in Henderson, Colo.

The scope of Birko’s certification, issued through Denver-based ISO 9001 management certification firm Platinum Registration, includes the design, development, manufacture and delivery of general and food-grade cleaning chemicals, and antimicrobial intervention products and distribution of other related products, according to the company.

“This is an important milestone for Birko,” said CEO Mark Swanson. “It’s a rigorous process to become ISO 9001 certified. Our staff worked very hard with Platinum Registration’s auditors to demonstrate that we met the requirements of the Standard.”

“Achieving ISO 9001 certification underscores Birko’s commitment to our customers, ensuring they receive the benefit of best-practice food safety solutions in the meat, produce and brewery industries,” he continued.

Established by the International Organization for Standardization, ISO 9001 is recognized as the worldwide standard for quality management systems and practices. It has been implemented by more than one million companies and organizations in 170-plus countries.
