Center for Innovative Food Technology to host workshop series

The Center for Innovative Food Technology (CIFT) is offering a series of workshops starting next month to help food processors manage supply chain best practices, which in turn can help stimulate the industry and accelerate job growth.

Brian D. Eyink, senior associate at Hogan Lovells, will be leading a workshop 9:30-11:30 a.m. Feb. 11 at the Quest Conference Center in Columbus, Ohio. He will focus on a deeper dive into food defense, including how to defend your supply chain against willful adulteration, as well as neglect and ignorance, and reducing the overall probability for occurrences. A new supply chain assessment tool will be previewed, which is designed to uncover strengths, gaps, and opportunities, providing a better understanding of a food company’s supply chain.

An additional workshop will be held 1-2:30 p.m. March 17, spotlighting ingredient and inventory track and trace solutions, as well as light, temperature, and location recording and real-time tracking. This event is part of the second half of the Ohio Food Industry Summit held at Nationwide Hotel & Conference Center in Lewis Center, Ohio. The Ohio Food Industry Summit includes presentations, networking, and a lunch. Register and pay online at ciftinnovation.org.

In conjunction with the workshops, CIFT is offering webinars on May 12, focusing on strength and function of supply chains, and Sept. 8, on managing and meeting regulatory standards by tracing and tracking ingredients. Two additional workshops will be held in August and October.
